STORYNIGHT: CREATION STORIES FOR THE NEW YEAR

Join us for a deep dive into the resiliency and power of the old story and song.
At this time in the world the wisdom in ancient myths is more important than ever.
Creation myths have teachings for us to hear and share together Now.

This gathering, on Zoom, is like none other.
We will feast on 3 Creation Stories which Daniel Deardorff, master mythteller and singer, traditionally told on the last Weds of the year– one Norse, one Sumerian, one from the Toba of South America. Your hosts Judith-Kate Friedman and Audrey di Mola will welcome you with spoken word and song. Daniel will be beaming in from the archives on video and audio. We'll stoke the StoryCircle Fire listening to his voice, his calling fire, and our kindling energies. Afterward we'll feed the story and hail the New Year.

This is a 2hour event held twice on the same day (same stories, different experience).
Arrive 15m early to hear more of Daniel's songs.

Suggested donation $18-$72 - more if you can, less if you can't. No one turned away for lack of funds.
Your donation in any amount supports the work of the Mythsinger Legacy Foundation and keeps the stories, songs and teachings of Daniel Deardorff going. Thank you for joining us in Daniel's vision and our mission: Restoring the wisdom of myth to culture and community.

And so the stories— more than just food, more than just nourishment, are medicine. Not specifically to heal— because we have a fantasy of healing— which is that the wounds and the scars will be gone, and we’ll be just as we were before the affliction ever landed on us. But to heal, as I mean it, is to make the wound a source— a generous and generative source— of what you have to give and bring into the world.
