The Art of Being a Man - Exploring healthy masculinity through the healing power of art

The Art of Being Man is a conscious men's group devoted to the continuing cultivation of healthy masculinity through an eclectic mix of expressive arts, mytho-poetic men's work, eastern mysticism and the generous wisdom of indigenous peoples.

In this group, we will inquire into the nature of what it means to be a man through the practice of artful masculinity. With art as our guide, we will create a body of work that has the power to heal old wounds as it reveals the hidden medicine that each man already carries inside his body.

Together, we will learn to unburden our hearts and walk in beauty, as we discover some soulful alternatives to the current masculine condition.

The Art of Being a Man is a closed group (no drop ins please) with a maximum of twelve men. We will meet weekly from 6:30-9:00 PM most Wednesday evenings beginning January 6th and continuing through April 28th, 2010. Cost for all 15 sessions is $375 (up front) or four monthly payments of $100. Scholarships can be arranged for those in need. Most art supplies will be included.
