I would be down with attending a drum making workshop that is open to the public -- I would love to learn more intricately about some of the beautifully designed lacing that can be done while tightening the skins -- keep me in the hoop!

P.S. Aimee - Still awaiting the words about your drumming journey! :-)

So I'm gonna post a few words about my drumming journey soon, but I just found this and had to pass it on. Enjoy!

My wife and I sponsored a drum making workshop 6 months ago at our home with Ben... There were probably 10 participants and all raved about Ben the process, and the deep sense of ritual and presence that Ben brought to the gathering... His knowledge in this area is unsurpassed... People who had never made a drum came away not only with a fine drum, but with a deeper understanding of the tradition of the drum... BRAVO!!!

Yeah: count me in. It's high time I made a drum, and I miss you Ben. Oops; that's Doctor Ben. Yow! Can we do it in March?

sounds like it might be time for an old fashioned drum-making workshop! A good good story or two, some tasty food, and a group of people ready to get their hands wet and slimy--all for a drum made with their own hands...

Birch recently gifted me with one of his wonderful drums. The sound is sooooo nice! Yes you make good drums.

Hey , Kathy bought a drum today and I realized how good of drums we make. Lets get some more out there. Has any one heard from Bill Cote? Has anyone ever made a drum out of a coyote? Does any one dare?
