Kate Hawkes Climbing Into The Universe

The clouds were suddenly over me and the cooking heat of the sun evaporated from my neck. I was glad I didn’t have the sunglasses after all, or I’d be carrying them as I made my way down the steep slippery switchbacks of The Hill behind the school.

I live in a little red rock canyon in Nthn AZ, secluded and beautiful, with a year-round creek, and towering hills guarding ancient Indian caves nestled in along the top of them. I look after horses and

Deborah Jane Milton Awakening Mythic Sensibilities

Did you know that if all nations consumed as we Americans do, we would need five planets to support the way we live? I didn’t know that and when I saw the graphs revealing the statistical
extent of our planetary overshoot, which has been building for the last two

Andreas Kornevall Wild Trees and Freedom in the Heart of the Cat

The old world re-united on the hillside
Cranes and the joy of flight
All bound in the sky like a kite
A Bear and Swan dance together in delight

From black windows we witness
Inside us holding our golden apple
To trade
Not to dance but tremble

In the metallic mickey mouse house

doghead Cynocephali

Hi I'm Doghead and I'm concerned about the misunderstandings surrounding my people; for example:

There were many reports of dog-headed tribes in the Middle Ages. According to Marco Polo, they were found on the island of Andaman, about 1000 miles east of Ceylon. (also called Taprobana) He
says: "You may take it for a fact

Lora Jansson Stop It Now -- A day of protest and prayer, mediation and journeying on June 21, 2010

I have been contemplating how to protest what is going on with the Gulf Spill, and about the continual ruination of our planet, about the grave injuries being done to the animal people, plant people, etc.

I have been wondering what Gandhi would do. I thought about one of his days of protest; he called for a day of prayer, a day when all the people of India were asked to not go to work, but to pray. The protest was to illustrate to the British how utterly dependent they were on the India… Continue

Brian Rohr Longing - A Poem for Demeter

This is a poem that I wrote in a few minutes while running late to meet a friend. I saw a poetry contest that wanted a poem about Demeter... Not knowing who she specifically was, I looked up her story and wrote this poem as a response to learning about her being the goddess of harvest and nature, and in her grief over losing Persephone, she became so depressed that all of life came to a stand-still.Continue

Aimee Ringle Healing - Wendell Berry

I

The grace that is the health of creatures can only be held in common.

In healing the scattered members come together.

In health the flesh is graced, the holy enters the world.

II

The task of healing is to respect oneself as a creature, no more and no less.

A creature is not a creator, and cannot be. There is only one Creation, and we are its

Rebecca Lowe A Fire Goddess finds the Cannabis Cafe

Across the river from the city and north, you can find the new haunt where Hecate resides; the three roads meet at 700 NE Dekum, Portland Oregon. On street level is a shrouded café next door to the 'Second Time Around Boutique.' However, the entrance is not where you would expect --can you really expect a front door to the Underworld?
